A DOG died after it and his owner were involved in an accident with a car near Lochgelly on Wednesday night.
Police Scotland officers were called to the B981 road that runs between the town and Cardenden at around 7.50pm.
A 70-year-old man and his dog were both injued in the incident, with canine sadly passing away.
The condition of the individual involved is not known.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to reports of an accident on the B981 near Lochgelly around 7.50pm last night.
"A 70-year-old man and his dog were involved in a collision a car and sadly the dog passed away.
"Enquiries into the incident are continuing."
