THE volunteers at the Benarty Community Shop, who were shocked by the break-in to their Ballingry based shop, received a major boost this week.
The raiders broke into the Benarty Square shop a few weeks ago, by creating a hole in the roof, and made off with all sorts of items, including clothes.
The raid shocked the Community Shop's team of volunteers, who raise thousands of pounds each year for good causes in the area covered by Glencraig, Crosshill, Lochore and Ballingry.
But they had a massive pick-me-up this week when the community champion at the Morrison's store, in Cowdenbeath, Deborah Graham, visited the shop this week.
The Community Shop's Lorna Gallagher said: "Morrisons store have heard about the break-in at our shop and have very kindly donated thirteen bags of new clothes, a food hamper, two large boxes of biscuits and a pack of carrier bags.
"How wonderful. There are more good people than bad. Many thanks to Deborah, and Tommy Gavin, for this amazing gesture and Charlotte Copeland for the good news."
