DUE to an increase in drug related violence in the areas of Benarty, Cardenden and Lochgelly, Operation BOO will be in action this week to Disrupt, Deter and Detect such offences, and officers will be taking a ZERO TOLERANCE approach.
Cowdenbeath Community Police team reported this morning that this Op will be running from September 14 to 21 and over the past 24 hours two people have been reported to the 'Fiscal.
Said the Community team: "Following the report of a hate crime, vandalism and assault in the Ballingry area, enquiries have been made, and this evening a male has been arrested and charged for the offences. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
"Meanwhile a vehicle was confiscated from a male in Cardenden after checks confirmed there was no vehicle insurance. The male will be reported for road traffic offences".
While Operation BOO runs until Monday there will be continued vigilance in the Ward 8 area to maintain pressure on perpetrators of crime.
