A STRETCH of the important Liza Brae link road between Lochgelly and Cardenden needs serious repairs, Cowdenbeath Area Committee was told.
Wednesday's meeting was told by both the convener and vice convener that the condition of carriageway running past Lochgelly Cemetery was very poor indeed.
Vice convener, Councillor Rosemary Liewald, said: "This road is in a terrible state with a great many uneven parts and it is a very busy stretch. I noticed in the report it only has Category 2 status."
Convener Linda Erskine added: "This is an important road and such is the condition of it this needs Category 1 status."
The Area Roads programme has a project valued at £106,815 earmarked for the Liza Brae for 2020-2021.
