A LOCHGELLY dad got into a fight with his son after an all-day drinking session.
As a result, 62-year-old Derrick Whyte, of Russell Street, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on August 8, at his home, he challenged Christopher Whyte to a fight then engaged in a fight with him and, in the course of this, he punched a glass panel in a door, damaging it.
Depute fiscal Jill Currie said Whyte had been drinking with others in his back garden during the day and this continued in his house that evening.
Whyte then became involved in a dispute and altercation with his 35-year-old son.
The court was told Whyte had no idea what the argument with his son was about.
Sheriff Alastair Brown fined Whyte £210. He told him: "This is the sort of thing that happens if you don’t control the amount of alcohol you have.”
