POLICE were called when a teenager caused a disturbance at his family’s home in Cowdenbeath.

Jason Sharp, 18, then threatened police officers when they turned up and began struggling with them.

The incident resulted in Sharp, of Greenmount, appearing in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on June 19, at his home, he shouted, swore, blocked a door, prevented police officers gaining access to the house, made threats of violence towards officers repeatedly and threatened to cause damage.

He also admitted that he resisted four police officers, struggled with them and lashed out with his arms and legs at them.

Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said that police had been called to the scene by Sharp’s mum at 8.50pm.

She had left the house because he was intoxicated there and was causing a commotion with his shouting and swearing, the court was told.

“A neighbour then told her he had a knife. When officers looked through a window, the accused appeared to have a kitchen knife,” said the depute.

After police managed to gain entry to the house, Sharp struggled as he was being arrested, made threats of violence to officers and said he would set fire to their van.

Sheriff Charles Macnair called for reports and Sharp will be sentenced on October 7.
