A WOMAN was attacked in her home by a stranger, who was trying to track down her stepdad.
Angela Cooper had been drinking with friends when she found out where her stepfather was now living, having not seen him for years.
In her drunken state, she went to his house and ended up attacking the man’s current partner.
Cooper, 41, of Broad Street, Cowdenbeath, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
She admitted that on November 18, at an address in Hill of Beath, she assaulted the partner by seizing her by the hair repeatedly and attempted to pull her along the floor to her injury.
Depute fiscal Dev Kapadia said Cooper had been drinking and had gone to the home of her stepdad, someone she had not seen for years.
When she arrived there, she assaulted the man’s current partner, a complete stranger to her.
When charged, Cooper said: “I’m truly, really sorry.”
Defence solicitor James Moncrieff said: “Her difficulties stem from issues with alcohol.”
Sheriff Alastair Brown fined her £110 and ordered her to pay £100 compensation.
