LOCHORE Welfare held Fife’s first social distancing 'mystic concert' on Saturday, (Lochore Welfare’s Big Day Out) when 150 people were on the park at Crosshill from 2.30pm till 9.30pm.

The day was was opened with an acoustic set from Mikey & Ben, which set the day off as everyone was settling into the new surroundings and singing along.

Next up was Aye Hobos, with their unique style which rocked the crowd with superb Cunk style music and with the punters now rocking it was the turn of Internet sensation 'Cutchy Cash' who was swarmed for photos from the minute he arrived at the club.

As soon as Fife’s favourite Glaswegian took to the stage he had the dancers up. With the darkness fast coming upon the fans Fife's very own Gavin Patrick took to the floodlit pitch, to give the rockets 90 minutes of classic sing along and dance along tunes.

The show was compared by Lochgelly's DJ 'Hodgie' who kept the crowd going during the turn arounds.

The day was organised with just three week's notice and as club chairman, Tam Pullar, indicated, there was some tremendous input from a lot of people to make it happen.

Said Tam: "The event was organised to help raise funds for the club which has been closed during the difficult Lockdown times but also to give the community a chance to enjoy themselves again safely.

"I wish to thank firstly the club committee, who have got behind the event and really made it happen, I’d also like to thank councillor Lea McLelland, Fife Council licensing department and Fife Police for their guidance and help throughout the planning of it.

"A big thank-you to the Benarty volunteers who without their help we would never have been able to pull off such a day, and thank-you to all the acts for their time and for putting on such an amazing show, and lastly you the community who took to the event.

"Tickets sold out within a week and their behaviour on the day was fantastic and the way they left the arena tidy was really an example of the kind of community we have in Benarty".

Added Tam: "We hope everyone enjoyed the day as much as we did and we hope to start planning on bringing this event back next year".

It is a big season coming up for the Welfare, their first in the East of Scotland League having left the juniors at the end of last season.
