THE Co-op has lodged an application for planning permission for a new store in Kelty.

Fife Council has been asked by the Co-op for consent for the erection of a retail store (Class 1) and formation of new access, parking and associated

works (amendments to application 18/00828/FULL for installation of ATM, lockers, satellite dish, roller shutters and vents and the erection of a fence on the site adjacent to Kelty Ex-Servicemen's club, in Cocklaw Street.

A report has been submitted to the planning authority with the application outlining possible coal mining risks and in order to confirm the possible land instability risks associated with the adjacent shallow workings in the Kelty Main seam, and potentially unrecorded shallow workings recorded further intrusive investigations have been recommended.
