A THUG spat at a pharmacist during lockdown after she refused to give him a prescription.

Daniel Murphy, 33, also threatened to shoot Stephanie McMahon at Houlihan’s Pharmacy in Possilpark in May this year.

Murphy was enraged after his request for a weekend’s methadone prescription was turned down.

He pleaded guilty today at Glasgow Sheriff Court to the assault and acting in a threatening or abusive manner.

The court heard Murphy turned up to the Possil pharmacy looking for the extended prescription.

He was told by Miss McMahon that she was unable to comply and asked him to return the next day.

Prosecutor Mark Allan told the court Murphy became “angry” and began to shout before being asked to leave.

Murphy continued his aggressive behaviour outside before returning to call Miss McMahon “a bastard.”

Mr Allan added: “The accused then audibly conjured spittle within his mouth and threw his head back and spat at her.

“A witness intervened making attempts to stop the assault and Miss McMahon stepped back to avoid the spit landing on her person.”

Murphy then shouted: “You’re getting shot, I’m going to burn this place down.”
