THINGS have been getting better for shoppers in Benarty as many local shops have re-opened after lockdown.

And there was more good news for the people of Benarty, when it was announced that Benarty Community Shop will re-open on Saturday August 15 between 10am and 1pm.

The highly popular community shop, like many others in the area, has been closed since March through the lockdown geared to stopping the spread of coronavirus.

The Benarty Community Shop's Michael O'Hare said: "The volunteers are looking forward to this as is so many local community customers who have supported us over the years.

"On Saturday can we say that we will not be taking any donations. This will commence the following week and will be done by booking a slot to drop off your donations.

"As we are limited for space due to the changes we apologise for any inconvenience.

"We know that people will have items that they want to donate but if they would keep an eye on our Facebook page it will be updated shortly".

Added Michael: "We look forward to the re-opening and look forward to seeing many familiar faces.

"Remember there is a huge SALE on within the shop. Please come along and be patient as there will be some restrictions in place due to COVID-19".
