THE area around the former power station site at Westfield, between Benarty and Kinglassie, continues to be hit by flytippers.

David Bogie caught a glimpse of the growing mess on the edge of the now developing industrial estate at of the former opencast mining site.

This has been getting worse and worse in 2020 and David feels that having to book in at recycling centres to dump stuff is playing a part.

He observed: "This has possibly been made worse with the recycling centres having been closed and now operating on an appointment system, as many places have seen an increase in fly tipping.

"I took these pictures at the former power station site at Westfield and what a mess it is.

"I suspect much of it is the 'Man with a Van" but whatever the cause, it's disgusting that people can't just wait and do things properly without just dumping it in the countryside".

The area near the shut Cowdenbeath Recycling Centre in Cuddyhouse Road was a target for dumpers a couple of weeks ago with all sorts of rubbish dumped on open ground.
