POLICE are continuing their appeal for information one week on following a serious sexual assault of an 18-year-old woman in Kelty.

The incident was reported around 11.15pm on Monday, 6 July, 2020. The woman was found in Limepark Crescent and disclosed to officers she had been attacked shortly before within a car at an unknown location in the Kelty area.

The suspect was driving a car and is described as having a tanned complexion, dark hair and a dark beard. Officers have no further information on the vehicle and officers are still appealing for any information on this.

Detectives and local uniformed officers will be carrying out a stop and speak tonight with drivers and walkers at various points throughout Kelty to try and encourage information exactly one week on from the incident.

Detective Inspector Kelly McEwan said: “The incident happened between 10.55pm and 11.15pm, and the victim had previously been in the area of Main Street, Kelty. I am appealing to members of the public who were in the area who may have seen something which could be significant to us.

“In particular, I would ask taxi drivers and motorists with dash cams to check their footage. It’s possible they have captured images of the vehicle which could prove vital in our enquiries. I am also appealing for the driver of a dark coloured car seen in the area of Seafar Drive, Blairadam Crescent and Limepark Crescent about 11.15pm to come forward as they may be a crucial witness.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 4470 of 6 July, 2020. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.
