THE Kelty to Kinross road was shut on Saturday evening for a time after a car went into a field.
The vehicle left the road just to the north of Kelty and went through the hedge before catching fire.
The incident led to a build up of traffic in both directions as police closed the road to allow the driver to be assisted.
Some drivers used the Maryburgh road to avoid the tailback but it took some time to get the road open again.
