EVERY year ONFife Libraries offers children the chance to take part in a national Summer Reading Challenge, much to the delight of young readers throughout the Cowdenbeath-Lochgelly area

However, this year, with libraries currently closed through the coronavirus crisis, things will be a little bit different. Through support from the SCVO Wellbeing Fund, the Public Library Improvement Fund, and a partnership with the Children’s University Scotland, ONFife Libraries is set to deliver a Summer Reading Challenge to remember with reading rewards, fun activities, online competitions and, of course, fantastic stories.

The first 500 children to register for the ONFife Summer Reading Challenge will receive a fantastic Children’s University Wonderbox filled with 32 fun activity cards, a colourful journal, pencils, stickers and badges.

And there’s more! To be in with a chance to win an amazing Get Busy…Or Get Silly! games pack, which includes LEGO, board games and lots more, children should join up by the 20 July. Find all the information needed at www.onfife.com/SRC.

This year’s Summer Reading Challenge launched on Monday with the online programme running for six weeks over the school holidays.
