WHEN the shops re-opened on Cowdenbeath High Street on Monday it heralded the town getting back some of its usual summer colour.

Normally at this time of year the High Street is looking in top nick as the town's Environment Group prepare for the Beautiful Fife judges to arrive.

However, due to lockdown they couldn't do their normal excellent job.

But they were able to make make some arrangements which has seen things look that much better.

Cowdenbeath Community Council's Facebook page captured the scene this week with this observation: "The volunteers from Cowdenbeath Environment Group haven't been able to spend as much time 'sprucing up' our town recently.

"But they did organise for the tubs on the High Street to be planted up and the hanging baskets to be put up, just in time for more shops re-opening on Tuesday."

The lovely floral features stretch all the way down High Street and brought these observation on the page, Helena Bowers: "Great to see all the planters filled up again. A big thank you to the people who do this makes our town look pretty". Barbara Atkinson: "Looking good as usual. Well done to all concerned."

Gary Paterson: "Thanks for everyone’s time and efforts." Elaine Cattanach: "Well done - looks lovely."
