YOUNGSTERS who maliciously damaged a green at Lochgelly Golf Club during the week have been slammed by club officials.
The vandals set fire to a plastic bucket on the 10th green causing considerable damage.
Such was the damage the green had to be completely relayed by the greenkeeper and his team.
Club president, Derek Clark, said that the vandalism was 'senseless and sickening' and added that it was so needless at a time the course was looking so good through the efforts of the staff during lockdown.
Police have been contacted by the club and the Cowdenbeath Community Team are investigating the incident. Meanwhile contributors to the golf club's Facebook page described the culprits as a group of youths who had been running over the course in the early hours of Wednesday.
