THE friends of a Cowdenbeath man, who died in hospital after being dramatically rescued from the loch at Lochore Meadows Country Park on Saturday evening, have set up a Go Fund Me page to raise funds to help with funeral costs.

Keivan Ulhaq, 20, got into difficulties when he was in the Meedies around 6pm on a gloriously sunny Saturday.

His calls for help saw many friends dive in to pull him to the shore and the emergency services took him to Kirkcaldy's Victoria Hospital, but he later passed away in the hospital.

Dana Paterson is organising the Go Fund Me page and said: "We are raising money for our friend Keivan Ulhaq, who lost his life at the age of 20 years-old.

"He was one of the most selfless and caring individuals we've ever met.

"He had and will continue to have a huge impact on everyone who was privileged to meet and know and him. It is unthinkable to think of a world without him, but we hope to carry on his memory, positivity, and everything we've gained from knowing him.

"Keivan was a fantastic brother, son, friend including so much more, making his sudden and tragic passing that much more unbelievable and difficult.

"Just as he has helped every one of us, we hope to pay that forward and help his family in a most trying time. Every penny counts and take some pressure off from Keivan's family.

"Keivan was described as ‘the most kindest and loving boy ever’ and it’s with deep regret that everyone has lost such a beautiful soul. Thinking of all the family at this sad time, we all miss you!"
