THROUGHOUT this last 10 weeks the immediate past master of Lodge Minto 385, in Lochgelly, Bro Steven Page has been playing his pipes at various places to mark the work of the frontline workers in the NHS and in care homes.
Steven has played outside his house, at Benore Care home, in Lochore; and last Thursday the local community of Buller and Paul Street were out in numbers, from children to a neighbour in her 90s, to appreciate his participation.
On this occasion an impromptu collection took place and the sum of £100 was raised.
Steven asked for this cash to be donated, along with a donation from Lodge Minto of £200, to Lesley Petrie, who is making scrubs for Victoria Hospital and relies totally on donations to carry out her task.
Her aim is to keep all NHS staff as safe as possible while at work caring for others who have contracted the Covid-19 virus.
Two local men, on hearing about the great work done by Steven and Lesley, donated a further £150.
Lodge Minto's Sandy Blair commented: "Well done and thanks to all concerned and I am sure there are more locals doing their bit in the community and it is greatly appreciated".
