FIFE COUNCIL is adding more bins to recycling points to cope with the increase in rubbish being discarded.
High Valleyfield's recycling point was expected to receive a new black bin for paper and cardboard recently due to an overflow in waste.
The local authority is assessing which sites in the Dunfermline and West Fife area could benefit from additional bins as well as increasing the amount of collections.
Simon Young, business and commercial operations service manager with Resource Efficient Solutions, said: "We've been assessing the provision at all of the recycling points and have been adding additional bins to some of the points where these can be accommodated, along with increasing the frequency of collections across a large proportion of the sites to help cope with the increased demand.
"We're regularly monitoring how the points are being used and service levels are being revised wherever possible to keep these clear."
