WITH the local business community set to re-open within the next few weeks the group that promotes shops throughout the Cowdenbeath area, is anxious that people start thinking about 'shopping local'.

The shops which dominate Cowdenbeath High Street will be allowed to re-open, after what will be three months of closure, in Phase 2 of the Easing of Lockdown Route Map, which, if progress continues to made, will likely come into being sometime in June.

Clearly local businesses will be concerned that people have got out of the habit of popping into local shops after such a lengthy spell out of action, but the Love Cowdenbeath group wants people to think Shop Local.

The Group said at the end of last week: "With the lockdown restrictions scheduled to ease in the coming weeks/months, more of our local shops and businesses are beginning to re-open

"It's been a difficult time for everyone in the last few months. Hopefully folks will 'shop local' and support our local businesses /business owners, putting money back into our local economy. Remember 'Buy Local or Bye-Bye Local'".
