KELTY marked the 75th Anniversary of VE Day with a small group socially distancing at the village war memorial on Friday.
Stewart Malcolm, from the Blairadam Concert Band, led the remembrance and pause for a Two Minute Silence, to honour the service and sacrifice of the Second World War generation.
Former Pipe Major, Jimmy Buist, was joined by wife Janet, a few members of Kelty Community Council, Cllr Alex Campbell and MSP Alex Rowley, to mark the occasion.
Mr Rowley thanked Stewart Malcolm and said: “Even in these difficult times it was important that we remember all those who gave their lives standing up to the rise fascism across Europe and I want to thank Stewart for organising this safe distance remembrance in Kelty which I was able to video and put online”.
Our photograph shows Alex Campbell, Janet and Jimmy Buist, Stewart Malcolm, Eleanor Kirk and Betty Rodden.
