THE VE Day 75th anniversary was marked in Benarty by a short service at the war memorial in Lochleven Road.
People gathered together, at a safe distance, just before 11am, on Friday.
Lochgelly and Cardenden undertaker and former soldier, John Gilfillan, placed a wreath at the memorial and gave a short address remembering the service people and members of the public who paid the ultimate sacrifice during the Second World War.
While at a safe distance those present did a Flash Tribute to remember all the men and women from many countries on both sides of a terrible war, who gave so much up in the name of freedom.
Also they paid their respects to all the volunteers and frontline workers in our own area battling against the Covid-19 virus.
