THE unusually wet weather of this morning saw Benarty Fundraisers postpone the last day of their street collection for the local food bank.

The vehicles supplied by Peter McGuire and Davie Farrell had been in a host of streets in Benarty and Lochgelly on Tuesday and Wednesday in glorious weather but when the teams turned up to get going this morning they found moderate rain falling for the first time in about a month.

It prompted the decision to postpone until this coming Monday (May 3).

Said Benarty Fundraisers' James Fotheringham: "The Benarty Foodbank Donation runs were cancelled today as the wet weather would have damaged the costumes that we have borrowed for our Minions team.

"So we will see you all on Monday when the sun is shining hopefully".

The first two days produced some amazing collections in both communities as can be seen from our picture.

The forecast for Monday is cloudy but dry!
