THE street collection organised by Benarty Fundraisers for the area's food bank made a fantastic start today and they are very grateful to everyone who contributed.

They went through Benarty, starting in Ballingry's Martin Crescent at the back of noon, and immediately the team, made up of Superman and Minions, were getting great support.

Peter McGuire's lorry was soon busy with bag loads of food items for the Benarty Food Bank.

In Lochgelly it was Spiderman who joined some Minions and they soon had people coming out to make contributions, and as our picture shows the trailer started to fill.

The Fundraisers James Fotheringham was over the moon with the response: "Superman and Spiderman were very persuasive and the public in both communities have been unbelievable.

"One of the Minions lost the head a bit, but he got it back on in the lorry and kept on working!"

Day 2 of the three day quest will see the vehicles donated to the cause by Peter McGuire and David Farrell take to other streets in Benarty and Lochgelly, starting at noon on Wednesday.

Look out on the Fundraisers Facebook page for where they are at any particular time if you want to make a donation.

The list of items that people can donate to Benarty Foodbank are Tinned food: meat, fish, vegetables, fruit, custard/rice pudding, tomatoes, soup, potatoes, cooking sauces, coffee, UHT milk, sugar, diluting juice, jam, cereal, super noodles/pot noodles/pasta'n sauce packets, pasta or rice. Any donation is welcomed and collection tins will also be available.
