POLICE are appealing for information after seven cars were broken into or vandalised in Kinglassie over the Easter weekend.

Between Friday April 10 and Monday April 13, the cars, which were parked on either Main Street or some of the roads off there over the weekend, have either had windows smashed or were broken into and personal items taken from within.

Community Inspector Kirk Donnelly, said: "Kinglassie is a small village and I am sure someone would have either seen, heard or have information about what’s happened to these cars over the weekend.

"Officers are checking CCTV at the moment and speaking to local residents, however, we are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen someone or maybe a group of people acting suspiciously near to vehicles or in the area in the last couple of days".

He added: "Additional patrols will be in the area to provide public reassurance and to engage with the public especially at this time in relation to the Government guidelines prohibiting the congregation of more than two people.

"I would also urge residents to make sure their personal belongings are removed from their vehicles and that the vehicles are then locked and secured."

Anyone with information can contact Glenrothes Police Station via 101 quoting reference number 1105 of 12 April 2020, or anonymously on Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
