REASSURANCE that services are in place for victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence, during this difficult period with the coronavirus lockdown, has been given by Fife Violence Against Women Partnership.

And co-ordinator, Sheila Noble, is urging anyone needing support to get in touch.

The groups below can all help if someone is concerned that their home situation is deteriorating.

She commented: “At a time when we all have to stay at home, support is available for those for whom home is not a safe place to be.

“There are a number of factors that can increase the risk of domestic abuse and sexual violence - enforced contact between partners, women feeling trapped and unable to leave, increased drinking at home, complications over child contact arrangements and reduced access to normal support routes.

“These are challenging times but services are still up and running and support is available and I would urge anyone who is struggling to get in touch.”
