LLOYDS Banking Group's premises at Pitreavie has re-opened after a member of staff tested positive for coronavirus.

The Press understands that all workers were told to leave immediately at around 4pm on Tuesday.

A deep clean has now been carried out and staff returned to work at the contact centre last night.

A Lloyds Banking Group spokesperson told the Press: "Following an extensive clean, our Pitreavie site reopened yesterday, Thursday, April 9.

"The health and wellbeing of colleagues and customers is our priority, and we continue to follow UK Government advice to ensure everyone remains safe."

They previously stated on Tuesday, that: "Our Pitreavie site has been temporarily closed to allow for the appropriate areas of the site to be thoroughly cleaned after a colleague was diagnosed with COVID-19.

"The colleague is following NHS guidance to self-isolate.

"Our priority is the wellbeing of our colleagues.

"We’re closely monitoring the developing situation and continue to follow official guidelines.”

An employee at the contact centre, who did not want to be named, told the Press that they were instructed to shut down their computers without delay and to leave the building.

“We were basically just told to get out,” they said.

“Our managers came round and told us what the situation was. They said a member of staff had the virus and we had to leave.

“We don’t know who it is that has it but a deep clean is now going to take place across the building.

“We don’t know how long it’s going to close for and when we’ll be returning to work.”

Another staff member told the Press that there was a long queue to evacuate.

They said: “I was on the phone to a customer and I looked up and saw a mob of people heading out.

“I was trying to stay calm and focus on my customer but my manager came over and told me to hurry up, end the call and leave. He told me that someone had coronavirus and that we all had to exit right away.”
