ALTHOUGH the Easter weekend is fast approaching families in the Cowdenbeath-Lochgelly area area should remember that the current 'lockdown' rules still still will very much apply.

Easter is normally a time when families have social events and many, if the weather is nice, like to spend time outdoors.

But the Fife Division of Police Scotland underline that at this crucial stage of the battle against coronavirus, people must 'stayhome'

Said a police spokeserson: "Holding house parties is against Government #StayHomeSaveLives measures and could increase the spread of coronavirus.

"ProtectTheNHS & follow guidelines set out by The Scottish Government. Only go out when shopping for essentials; travelling to work if you can't work from home; daily exercise; and medical need

"Remember, the single most important action we can all take, in fighting coronavirus, is to stay at home in order to protect the NHS and save lives.

"When we reduce our day-to-day contact with other people, we will reduce the spread of the infection".

The measures initially will last for the three weeks from March 27 to Monday April 13, at which point an announcement on the next stage will be made.
