FIFE'S leading provider of sports and leisure services is thanking customers for their support during the Coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic.

Charitable trust, Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, who run the Cowdenbeath Leisure Centre and Bowhill Pool, has received much-appreciated backing from customers, who, despite not being able to access facilities, are making donations to the organisation’s Fife Health and Wellbeing Fund designed to support the delivery of a health and wellbeing programme to local people living with long-term health conditions.

Fiona Prendergast, wellbeing and programming manager for Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, said: “We have been overwhelmed with the support and good will of our customers. As a charitable trust, we invest back into facilities and programmes for the benefit of local communities, so we are really grateful for people thinking about the trust at this very difficult time for everyone.

“We have frozen direct debit contributions to programmes and our membership scheme, Leisure Active, because facilities have had to close, but we have been approached by customers willing to keep paying.

“And, despite our facilities being closed, our fitness instructors are recording virtual sessions which we are uploading to social media and YouTube so that people can stay active and enjoy the health and wellbeing benefits of physical activity while observing social isolation measures.”
