TIMES may have changed but the love between Anne and Jackie Wilson has lasted throughout the decades.

The Hill of Beath pair, who both worked for the Romanes run Dunfermline Press Group for more than 30 years, celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary on Thursday.

Anne said: “We were just remembering we bought a little cottage in Hill of Beath for £100 just after we were married!

“It was 10 shillings a week we paid – 50p today, so times have changed massively!

“But we have a lot of lovely things to look back on!

“It’s hard to believe we’ve been married all these years.”

Anne, 82, and Jackie, 85, first met when they were teenagers but headed in different directions before uniting again a few years later.

“As teenagers, we met at the Kinema Ballroom and St Margaret’s Church, in Dunfermline, but after a few months we went our separate ways,” Anne added.

“A few years later, we met again and were married, going on to have our daughters Carol and Yvonne, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

“We both worked for the Dunfermline Press Group for years before retiring and enjoyed going on our holidays with our friends and family.

“We've found a little give and take goes a long way!”

The couple were going to celebrate with friends and family before their party was cancelled due to the lockdown in the wake of the coronavirus.

Anne added: “It’s not the anniversary we expected – my brothers were coming from Norfolk and Wales.”

Speaking about their time working with the DP, Anne said: “I worked in the book-binding department and Jackie was a delivery driver.

“We first started at the New Row and then went to Pitreavie.

“We made lots of friends there – it was such a good place to work!”
