COWDENBEATH MSP Annabelle Ewing has this week highlighted a range of advice lines providing help and support on a range of issues during the coronavirus outbreak.

Speaking on Monday, Ms Ewing said: “These are very difficult and confusing times for everyone.

"The restrictions impacting on our daily lives have been changing on a day by day basis and I know and understand that many people will have been struggling to keep up with the changes – and the help that is available to them.

“So, I wanted to highlight a range of advice lines that people can contact for up to date information, advice and assistance. There is a general advice line but there are also ‘sectoral’ specific helplines for people with specific concerns, whether that is advice for the elderly, parents or people in business, for example".

The helplines are as follows: General Coronavirus helpline: 0800 028 2816; Business support helpline: 0300 303 0660; Employers’ helpline: 0800 019 2211; Parents’ helpline: 0800 028 2233; Elderly people helpline: 0800 124 4222; Housing helpline: 0808 800 4444.

Ms Ewing added: “Living our lives differently can cause other issues that people might need help with and there is support available for those situations too."

These include, Mental Health helpline: 0800 838 587; Domestic Abuse helpline: 0800 027 1234; Rape Crisis Scotland helpline: 0808 801 0302; LGBT helpline: 0300 123 2523.

“There is a huge amount of information and a wide variety of assistance out there. Please seek it out.”
