FIFE Council taken the decision to close all Recycling Centres in Fife, with immediate effect and for at least three days.
This is following the announcement by the Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon on Monday that every citizen must stay at home (except for very limited purposes).
Said a council spokesperson: "These closures are also in line with Scottish Government guidance on social distancing and are for the safety of everyone".
This applies to all Recycling Centres including the facilities at Cuddyhouse Road, Cowdenbeath; and the Lochgelly facility at Cartmore.
Added the official: "Given the ongoing situation and impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19), this information will be updated with further advice on disposal of household waste when available. We thank the residents of the Cowdenbeath-Lochgelly area for your co-operation and understanding".
