CROSSHILL business, MirrorMirror, has won the the Best New Hairdressing Salon gong at the Fife Business Awards.

The salon, at 121 Main Street, was only opened 18 months ago, when Claire Small joined up with Marie McFarlane, and started to build the hairdressing and beauty facility into a very popular operation.

Indeed, last summer Marie won the Scotland's Beauty Therapist of the Year award, and now Claire and her hairdressing team have scooped another prestigious accolade.

Said Claire: "We were nominated by our customers and their online backing saw us go through to the finals night.

"We got together at the salon and had a nerve steadying drink before we headed to the awards ceremony, and to be honest, we all felt just pleased to have reached that stage.

"But when the MC announced that we had won, it was a bit hard to take in."

The team at MirrorMirror, of Claire, Marie, apprentice Robyn Gray and Lash technician, Nicola Glancey, concentrates on presenting a one-stop-shop for clients to be able to obtain top hair styling and beauty advice under one roof and the public like what they are getting.

Added Claire: "The number of clients we have continued to build in 2019 and it really has kept on growing since the start of 2020.

"Marie and myself have had unbelievable support from our husbands, who have really made the salon such a welcoming place for clients, and we cannot thank them enough.

"Also the support we have had from the communities of Ballingry, Lochore, Crosshill and Glencraig, has really been fantastic and we have to thank our customers for nominating us for this lovely award."

And she concluded: "It was an amazing night for us, to have our families with us, to see it all unfold and one I will always remember."

While a large percentage of MirrorMirror's clientele comes from Benarty, they have a strong flow of people coming to the Main Street salon from Lochgelly, Cowdenbeath, Cardenden and Dunfermline, which is really pleasing for Claire and Marie.
