THE Lochgelly Community Shop has closed due to the coronavirus situation.

The shop, which raises a lot of money for good causes in the town, has a number of over 70s in their team and it is felt that looking at Government guidance on how to deal with the issue just now.

Said Lochgelly Development Forum's Helen Ross: "We have been keeping going but in view of the circumstances that sees the schools closing and places like the Lochgelly Centre shut during the problems the virus is causing we have decided it makes sense to close until the situation eases.

"Hopefully that will not be too far away and we can get back to some normality."

Helen added that recently Bank Street had not been so busy during the coronavirus which had meant less passing trade."
