LOCHGELLY Community Council is running their Citizen and Young Citizen of the year competition.

The last meeting of the council heard that the Young person of the year is open to anyone under the age of 19, and person of the year is over 19. Nomination forms can be picked up and submitted to Lorraine Mullen at Lochgelly Centre.

Congratulations were given to the SVQ Volunteering class that was run by Lochgelly Community Development Forum and Fife College – with the entire class passing with flying colours!

Also coming up during business was that a member of the public had approached a member to complain about the wall at Lochgelly Cemetery.

The wall has been in disrepair for a few years now, and the issue has been passed along to the relevant department at Fife Council. When the repair was priced previously, it was in the range of £380, 000.

If anyone wants to contact the community council with any complaints or concerns, the can contact myself via email on lochgellycc-sec@hotmail.com or they can leave a message for myself with Lorraine Mullen at Lochgelly centre.
