- THE number of coronavirus cases in Fife has risen by 984 since the last update a week ago.
- The new total is now 132,296.
- The Public Health Scotland figures are now published on their website every Wednesday.
- It shows the seven day average for cases in Fife per day is now 141, the previous week it was 152.
- The number of people in hospital is 77, an increase of 27 from last week, while the number of people in ICU remains below five.
- According to Public Health Scotland, a total of 293,373 people in Fife aged 12 and over have had their first COVID-19 vaccination, 89.8 per cent of the 12 and over population.
- There have been 279,561 people who have had their second dose, which is 85.6 per cent of the 12 and overs in the region.
- And 239,307 Fifers have had their third dose or booster, 73.3 per cent of the 12 and over population.
- A total of 32,473 people eligible in Fife have had a fourth vaccine dose, that is 93.8 per cent of the 75 and over population.
- Across Scotland the number of cases per day, based on a seven day average, was 2,071. The previous week it was 2,220.
- The latest seven day period is June 20 to 26.
- From June 2 Public Health Scotland no longer reports the number of Covid-19 deaths within 28 days of a positive test. The information is now on the National Records of Scotland's death certificate data.
- A total of 4,409,014 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, 4,137,511 have received their second dose, 3,517,958 received a third dose or booster and 535,132 have received a fourth dose.
- Common symptoms of COVID-19 include:
- High temperature or fever.
- Cough.
- Shortness of breath.
- Loss of taste or smell.
