A CROSSHILL man who assaulted a female police officer has been sentenced with unpaid work.
Callum Morris, 22, of Castle Avene, previously admitted that on September 4 at Main Street, Crosshill, he assaulted a constable then in the execution of her duty by seizing her clothing and hair.
And, he resisted, obstructed and hindered two officers by shouting, swearing, struggling with them and uttering offensive remarks.
At Dunfermline Sheriff Court, defence solicitor, Elaine Buist, explained that her client was appearing in Court as a first time offender.
"His employer has said that they find it quite hard to imagine him behaving in this way as he is normally quite a quiet lad."
Sheriff James MacDonald imposed a sentence of 135 hours of unpaid work on Morris.
Sheriff MacDonald said: "You are appearing as a first-time offender and I am going to take account of that.
"Although it is referenced that your behaviour was out of character, it was also unacceptable."
