THIS week's Down Memory Lane pictures come from exile, Graham Betts, formerly from Ballingry, but who now lives in Ayrshire.

His dad worked on the creation of Lochore Meadows Country Park by driving one of the earth scrapers which had the tough task of clearing the bings of the Glencraig and Mary Collieries.

Three of the pictures show scrapers at work in searing temperatures, as the bings burned underneath the surface, and Graham said his dad used to find it really tough as temperatures soared beneath his machine.

The other shot shows a brave duo climbing one of the lumbs of the collieries.
