BEATH High School has become Cowdenbeath Rotary Club’s second corporate member.

At Thursday’s meeting the school was inducted into the club, joining Lochgelly High, who became the first corporate member last year.

Beath’s depute rector, Nicola Barker Harrison, represented the school at Thursday’s induction ceremony and said it was a natural way of taking the strong relationship between the club and the school to the next stage.

The club’s recruitment officer, Alex Cuthbertson, said that the school’s senior team of management would be the school’s representatives at club meetings with Nicola or one of her colleagues attending.

Nicola said: “This is a great honour for myself and the school.

“Our school values are very close to those of rotary and this will strengthen the good links that the club has developed over the years with Beath High.”

The rotary club have worked closely with the school in such things as the Beath-Malawi Partnership.
