FIFE MSP Alex Rowley joined retired members of the Benarty community at the Friday morning Companions Club in Benarty Centre and praised all the volunteers involved in the weekly event.
Mr Rowley said: “The members and volunteers from Benarty Events Group host this social gathering every Friday morning in the Community Centre which brings local people together for song, dance, poetry and soup.
"I was privileged to listen to local people sing, recite poetry written by themselves and other local people, and talk about all the local issues of the day."
He added: “The people who give up their time to organise these events should be commended and this is yet another example of the wealth of talent and community activity that is crucial to the health wellbeing of all the communities in Central Fife.
"There is full admiration for all the people who organise and support this community activity”.
