THE mine hosts of a popular Cowdenbeath pub have been given recognition of their work in the town.

Gary Roy and and Linda have been part of the successful Wee Jimmies set up for many years as one of the longest established nitespots throughout the Cowdenbeath-Lochgelly area has continued to prove one of the most popular pubs.

The High Street pub has also been home of Cowdenbeath Rotary Club for five years and on Thursday night Gary and Linda received a ‘service to the community’ award from the club.

Rotary president Yolanda Hilton told Thursday’s meeting: “Gary and Linda have been our hosts since 2015 and the way our meeting nights and various events have been provided for have been first class, but it is not only us who have found the warm support of them.

“Cowdenbeath Football Club has been warmly supported by Gary and Linda for some years now and their many regulars also enjoy the warm community atmosphere of Wee Jimmies.”

Gary and Linda said: “This is a big surprise for us and we thank the rotary club for this warm endorsement.”
