THIS week's Down Memory Lane pictures come from exile Thomas Thomson who was brought up in Lochgelly but whose aunt lived in Ballingry and gave him these photographs which go way back, in some cases almost 100 years.

Thomas now stays in Bristol but keeps up to date with what is happening in the area through our website.

Said Thomas: "I am not 100 per cent sure on dates of these but I think the picture of the house with a bing literally yards away behind it is amazing."

The top picture is a street scene from the 1960s in Benarty and the left hand picture shows the bing creeping up behind the house. Thomas thinks it is from the 1950s.

The middle top picture is of one of the local barbers and Thomas believes that is around 90 years old and the middle bottom pic is of Ballingry Church in winter time, possibly 50 years ago.

If you have any old photographs you would like to see in our Down Memory Lane feature send them to editorial@centralfifetimes.co.uk or take them to Jim Stark at the Lochgelly Centre cafe on a Monday or a Friday from 1pm to 3.30pm.
