A LARGE hole developing near a drain in Lochore has been described as yet another problem with Benarty roads.

A number of comments were made on the Benarty Matters Facebook page about this latest development with concern that it could develop if not repaired and is an example of growing issues with Benarty roads.

William Crowe said: "Look out for at his hole at a drain next to the clinic on Marmion Road, the state of the roads around the area are disgrace and this needs sorted ASAP."

Peter Keicher added: "The roads have been neglected for a few years now.

"When weeds are allowed to grow they ruin the tar bursting it as they grow.. Then the frost gets under it and bursts it more making it crumble. Then the rain washes it away leaving holes.... All because the council thought they were saving money by not killing the weeds three times a year instead of once...!"

Fee McFarlane thinks things are not getting any better: "Where have you ever seen roads in this condition, where is the council tax going."

People are urged by Fife Council to report holes that they see in local roads so these can be repaired by the Potholer team.
