A BALLINGRY man stole over £200 worth of meat from a Glenrothes store last week.

Steven Carruthers, 49, of Martin Crescent, appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court when he pleaded guilty to stealing a quantity of meat from the Marks and Spencer Simply Food store in the town's Henge Retail Park, on Tuesday January 28.

The Court heard that Carruthers had a day previously been granted bail at KSC after appearing on an offence.

The Sheriff also heard that Carruthers was arrested after stealing more than £250 of steak from the store.

Sentence was deferred until Friday February 7.
