CARDENDEN Community Council's secretary feels a planning application for 59 new houses at the Jamphlars is a better bet for development in the village than one recently submitted for Woodend.

Oliver and Robb Architects, Dunfermline, have asked Fife Council for consent to erect 59 affordable housing, units with associated roads, parking and landscaping on land to the east of Jamphlars Court, Cardenden.

Community Council secretary, David Taylor, said: "A planning application has just been submitted for 59 affordable houses at the Jamphlars. This is a much more suitable site for development".

The community council feel that the ground at Woodend too liable to flood for development.
