WEST FIFERS have been urged to dispose of waste responsibly after a road was partially blocked near Kelty.

A quantity of crates and other items were dumped on a road at Maryburgh.

The area lies within Perth and Kinross Council's control and they confirmed they had been informed about the rubbish problem.

A spokesperson said: "Our waste services are aware of the fly-tipping incident but the land in question is in private ownership so it is the responsibility of the landowner to arrange clean up.

"We encourage all members of the public to be responsible with how they dispose of their own waste, and where they do spot fly-tipping, to report it as soon as possible.

"You can find out how to correctly dispose of excess household and commercial waste and report incidents of fly-tipping on our website at: http://www.pkc.gov.uk/article/14829/Fly-tipping.”
