THE actions of police officers in the run-up to the death of a Kinglassie pensioner are being probed by a watchdog.

The Police Investigations and Review Commissioner this week has confirmed they are investigating the actions of Police Scotland officers prior to the death of a 97-year-old woman, whose body was found at her home in Kinglassie, October 25 2019.

Annie Temple was found dead in her home in the village's West End after concerns were raised about her welfare.

A PIRC spokesperson said: "The matter was referred to us by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) and a report will be submitted to them in due course".

A man has since been charged with murder in relation to Annie's death.
