COWDENBEATH man David Thomson played his part in the Provincial Grand Conclave of East Scotland, the Brotherhood of David and Jonathon, presenting a cheque for £500 to a school which teaches children with learning difficulties.

The John Fergus School, in Glenrothes, look after 28 children from the age of 3 to 18, many of whom have difficulty in communicating, and the headteacher and staff have been raising funds for their sensory room which will greatly assist the children.

Depute Grand Supreme Ruler and Very worthy Brother, David Thomson, and Grand Supreme Ruler, Right Worthy Brother Morgan McDonald, presented headmistress at John Fergus School, Pam Kirkum, and school secretary Helen, with the cheque and wished them good fortune for the future.

Morgan and David visited the school just before the end of term while the children were rehearsing for their Christmas concert.
