AS one young player has left Central Park another is very much staying.

Attacking midfielder Connor Smith was recalled by Hearts following five months on loan at Cowdenbeath on Monday

However, the Jambos today (Tuesday) confirmed that defender Chris Hamilton will be seeing out his season long loan spell.

Cowden director David Allan said this morning: "Following discussions with Hearts we are delighted to confirm that Chris Hamilton will now be with us until the end of the season.

"Chris has really been a mainstay of the side in recent months so we are very pleased he is remaining at Central Park.

"Connor Smith though is returning now to Tynecastle and thus it was very fitting that he signed off with a goal on Saturday.

"We thank Connor for his contribution to CFC and wish him every success in the future. Thanks also to Hearts for their kind assistance".

Fellow former Beath High School pupil Chris Hamilton has played most of his games in the middle of the defence but in several games has proved equally effective in a midfield role.
